Is Mehrab really free?
Yes. Reading, listening, all learning tools, the games, and calls with our available teachers are free with no limit on sessions. Mehrab Plus is an optional paid add-on for scheduled lessons and premium teachers.
Are there female teachers?
Yes. Students are matched to teachers of the same gender automatically, and the teacher list only shows teachers you can learn with.
Do I need to install the app?
No. Everything works in the browser at app.mehrab-alquran.com. The app is also on the App Store, Google Play, AppGallery and the Microsoft Store.
Do you ask for a national ID?
No. An email or a phone number verified through Telegram or WhatsApp is all you need.
How are teachers vetted?
Every teacher holds an ijazah with a connected sanad in at least the riwayah of Hafs, passes a committee exam in memorisation, recitation and tajweed, and commits to a fixed weekly schedule.
Can I get an ijazah?
Yes. Many of our teachers grant ijazah with a connected sanad after completing the required recitations with them.
Which languages does the app support?
The interface is available in 16 languages, and you can filter teachers by the languages they speak.
Are sessions recorded?
Sessions are recorded for quality review and for you to listen back, under the consent you control in the app's settings.
